C.J. Henry is currently rated the #2 QB and #3 overall prospect for Delaware's Class of 2021. Despite only being in 8th grade currently, Henry put on a show for the University of Maryland coaching staff a couple weeks ago - completing 7 of 9 passes for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Maryland Heat. In the past few years, C.J. has proven to be a championship caliber quarterback, leading the Cecil County Jaguars and Cecil County Saints to several championship game appearances while winning MVP honors in the UCYFL Championship Games.
This young signal-caller has quite the resume at his age. In recent seasons, C.J. Henry has racked up many quality accolades, such as leading the Hamilton Tigers to a GYFL Championship while being named Team MVP, Offensive MVP, 1000 Yard Club for passing yards, and winning a Maryland State Championship. Henry was arguably the top quarterback in the Grassroots Youth Football League, as he was selected as the starting quarterback in the GYFL All-Star Game. Despite being from the state of Delaware, C.J. has made a name for himself in Maryland while playing for the Hamilton Tigers, Maryland Heat, and FBU Team Maryland All-Star Team. Whether you look at his playing resume in Delaware or Maryland, the one thing that is very clear to everyone is the fact that C.J. Henry performs to the highest level wherever he plays.
When the 302 Elite Athletes staff spoke with C.J., we asked him what motivates him to perform at such a high level. C.J. Said'' "What motivates me to perform at such a high level is understanding the talent and potential that I have. I always come across former athletes that wasted their talent because of a bad decisions they made that ruined their career - for me, failing is truly not an option. I will do whatever it takes to be successful in football and within life as a whole." Recently, Henry had a close friend killed while walking home from school, a tragic event that now adds fuel to his fire. "Having my friend get killed was very painful for me, something that I will always carry with me. I want to honor him on the field moving forward and use that as fuel and hunger to play at the highest level." Quarterback C.J. Henry will be putting his skill set on display at both the 302 Middle School Combine and Showcase as well as the 302 Rising Freshmen All-Star Game.
